Species on Concession:
We look forward to introducing Hippo and Crocodile to Kwalata in the near future.
Daily rates include your transfer from O.R Tambo (Johannesburg) International Airport approximately 3.5 hours drive, accommodation, sumptuously prepared meals, all beverages, hunting in open top 4x4 vehicles, professional hunter, well-trained trackers and field preparation of the trophies. One on one (one client and one professional hunter) or two on one (two clients with one professional hunter) hunting rates are available.
Plains game hunts are usually 7 days however shorter or longer stay periods as well as other hunting options are welcome.
BOW HUNTING:
Bow hunters will be thrilled with the excellent blinds and facilities provided for them. There are currently elevated blinds, well positioned near water holes and feeding spots which allow bow hunters into close proximity to sought after game species, to ensure fantastic trophies and good shots at comfortable distances. The best time for bow hunters is between June and October in the dry months.

Kwalata Wilderness offers our clients the opportunity of a lifetime. Whether hunting the big 4 on Kwalata or travelling to one of our excellent pre-approved hunting destinations we will make your safari and unforgettable hunting experience.
Kwalata is malaria free and provides an excellent destination for hunting Africas dangerous game. The following days are the minimum requirement for the following:
7 day Buffalo hunt
7 day Elephant hunt
14 day Buffalo & Leopard hunt
17-21 days for 4 of the big 5
Kwalata recognised the need to provide other areas for our repeat clients as many have hunted with us on numerous occasions and wished to continue to hunt with us but wanted new destinations. In response to this we have carefully selected other hunting areas to provide further safari experiences.
Matetsi, Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe Buffalo/Sable Combo
Hunting Cape Buffalo and Sable as well as various plains game species in a truly wild, free roaming area. These hunts are conducted in the north western corner of Zimbabwe in the well known Matetsi safari area, established in 1973. Matetsi is home to a vast number of plains game as well as Lion, Leopard, Elephant, Sable and big herds of Cape Buffalo. Hunters who join Kwalata on this safari experience will have the opportunity to hunt one of the best hunting areas that Zimbabwe has to offer. Through years of cooperation with concession holders in Zimbabwe we have been able to establish a fixed quota on this area.
Sengwe River, Lake Kariba, Zimbabwe Hippo/ Crocodile combo.
The shores of Lake Kariba provide the most scenic and unsurpassed area for hunting Hippo and Crocodile. This truly African experience will provide hunters with outstanding trophies in an exceptional area. It is just a short 2 hour drive or quick flight from Victoria Falls to the western shores of the lake. Kariba is also well known for good tiger fishing and such an experience can easily be incorporated into your safari.
Cahora Bassa, Mozambique Hippo/Crocodile combo.
Kwalata Wilderness also offer our clients the opportunity to experience Mozambique, through co operation with the concession holder, we have been able to establish quota on Hippo, Crocodile, Chobe Bushbuck, Bush Pig and various other plains game species. This concession located on Cahora Bassa Lake is roughly 900 000 acres and has in excess of 60 miles of waterfront making it an absolute monster Hippo and Crocodile paradise, the likes of which will be very hard to find anywhere else in Africa. Cahora Bassa is also very well known for exciting tiger fishing and with boats and fishing gear on hand at camp; an afternoons fishing is a fantastic experience.
BILTONG HUNTING:
"Biltong hunting" is open only during the period from 1st of June to 1st week of September. Only female Impala, Wildebeest and Kudu are available to hunt during this period for their meat where as all other male species are available for trophy hunting.
